Today is Ada Lovelace Day, which celebrates the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In the 19th century, Lady Ada Lovelace became the world's first computer programmer when she wrote what is today considered the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine.
